Morant Wright was founded in 1999 by with the specific purpose of investing in Japanese equities and our first fund, the MW Japan Fund, was launched in that year. Our UK authorised OEICs, the LF Morant Wright Japan Fund and the LF Morant Wright Nippon Yield Fund, were launched in 2003 and 2008 respectively. Two Irish UCITS, the Sakura Fund and the Fuji Yield Fund, both of which have currency hedged share classes, were launched in 2013 and 2014. We also manage a number of segregated accounts, all of whom have been clients for many years.

We have followed our value-driven, research-based investment approach since inception. All our funds and accounts are managed on a team basis and all follow the same investment process. Apart from meetings with clients, our managers devote all their working time to investment management and research.

Together, our fund managers have nearly 170 years’ investment experience. All managers conduct their own research and we have databases of company research and meetings going back more than 20 years.

The firm remains 100% owned by its employees. All our managers invest personally in our funds so their interests are aligned with those of our clients.
